Paranoia is running rampant,
most of it comes from armchair generals who have no idea what it would actually take to implement military martial law in the United States.

Lets try to explain it numerically:

The July 2008 estimate of the United States population was 303,824,640

of that number we have,

0-14 years: 20.1% (male 31,257,108/female 29,889,645)
Yes, a child can pull a trigger as easy as an adult, but for the sake of this exercise we'll excuse the tykes.

15-64 years: 67.1% (male 101,825,901/female 102,161,823)
What we describe as the main combat age range.
We are firm believers in equal rights and fully expect women to serve in combat roles.
CSA military doctrine puts women in sniping duties.
Women can be every bit as ruthless as men, they are far more patient and can wait hours for a target of opportunity.
This would give you a total of - 203,987,724 individuals within the main combat age range.

65 years and over: 12.7% (male 16,263,255/female 22,426,914)
 We are also firm believers in "grey haired units",
they are often the most ruthless and experienced fighters.
But for the sake of this exercise, we'll excuse the seniors.

Yes, it's true that the US Army has designated a brigade to the United States.
This brigade is the 3rd Infantry’s 1st Brigade Combat Team.
The brigade in its domestic homeland activities will be designated as the Consequence Management Response Force (CCMRF) (pronounced “sea-smurf”).

Current strength of CCMRF is listed at 4,700 joint personnel comprised of Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines.
They are the first of three planned CCMRF brigades planned,
While a brigade is a fair-sized military unit,
it's a 3000 to 5000 member force that would likely be hard-pressed to secure even one medium-sized town in America.
 let alone 203,987,724 citizens in the combat age range.

Now we'll agree that's a best case figure,
not allowing for the pacifists, disabled, and mentally ill.
But, we'll take those odds any day.

CCMRF is a reactionary force, their use in LA or Chicago should Obama lose would not surprise us at all.
But if you fear the "Sea-Smurfs" walking the main streets of Crosby, North Dakota, you need to get a serious grip on reality.
